چکیده
In seed technology, the use of biocompatible materials, such as chitosan, has been demonstrated to improve germination process and establishment seedlings. This research is focused on effect a chitosan coating development sesame bean plantlets. The seeds were treated with different techniques combinations chitosan: solutions at 0.1, 0.5 1% used in film coating, flakes particle sizes 1.19 mm 0.71 crusted size for acrylic resin. Images coatings obtained by means scanning electron microscopy; germination, speed, vigor index, length root area plantlets also determined. Chitosan treatments increased 26% 16% compared control; speed index showed an increase 61% 58% sesame. 77%, four times more, control treatments. Different forms seedling establishment; however, response type given stage will depend crop species.

Changes in the Metabolism of Lipids and Carbohydrates during Germination of Sesame (sesamum Indicum L.) Seeds
The levels of lipids, carbohydrates and enzymes concerned with their breakdown were determined in sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) seeds during an 8-days period of germination. Alkaline lipase and isocitrate lyase activities were at peak level when the lipid mobilization was highest. The content of total soluble carbohydrates, reducing and nonreducing sugars, increased during the initial 5-days peri...

The purpose of this paper was to estimate and to evaluate the hydration curves of three kinds of dry bean varieties (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), besides adjusting the Peleg’s model to the experimental values under several soaking temperatures. Bean seeds of pinto, black and red kidney varieties were soaked in distilled water in the temperatures of 20, 30, 40 and 50 °C. The constant C1 (Peleg rate c...
